Man 2006 for detective Conan episodes were dry/forgotteable the only one I liked was episode 425 and probably that filler episode with that stunt case on the role with someone playing kamen yaiba

well, at least he didn't go all 'mouri? mouri? mourimourimouri? you're here(points at Ran), and you're here(points at Conan), annnd who are you again(points at Sonoko)? well, nevermind. you're all here but where's Mouri-san?!' because the dude's just that dumb of a huge fan of Kogoro. he's so dumb, he didn't even know his favorite new show was going to be preempted by the European Karate Championship... which of course Sonoko's beau, the boy she's always got a girly boner for... is going to compete in... so the idiot's VCR at home is taping karate instead of his new favorite show.

this case is so full of coincidence after coincidence it's just plain stupid.

it's a fun one though, shrug, don't think too seriously about it. unless you're an expert on Japanese lettering systems and their calendar history you'll never figure out who did it. there are positively absolutely zero clues to 'whodunnit' other than that.

also, the deus ex machina at the end was cool. but plainly obvious and had been foreshadowed to hell and be back way in part 1.

the parallels are interesting though. Sonoko is hot for a karate maniac and Ran is hot for a deduction maniac. so they're both dating guys obsessed with their jobs. hobbies. passions. heh. funny. :/

The episode is okay but I wouldn’t rewatch it again at least the runtime wasn’t long
